Description
Creative Biomart has announced the official release of serum-free expression system in the aim of providing more convenient and cost-effective protein expression service.Serum proteins, such as albumin, fibronectin, and fetuin serve a variety of functions that include adsorbing toxic compounds, providing protection against shear forces in bioreactors, creating a matrix for cellular attachment to surfaces, and acting as a carrier for lipids and other growth factors.
According to the biological scientists from Creative Biomart, this serum-free expression system has a large expansion of application, which can be used in the production of monoclonal antibodies, viral antigens, and recombinant proteins using a variety of mammalian and invertebrate cell lines. This technology can satisfy a large number of physical requirements of cells that are normally addressed by the presence of serum. Using this technology, there will be no need for serum qualification and purification and downstream processing will be simplified.
