ABCA7, an ATP-binding cassette, sub-family A (ABC1), member 7, is highly homologous to ABCA1 and mediates cellular cholesterol and phospholipid release by apolipoproteins. The ABCA7 gene is regulated by sterol in the opposite direction to ABCA1 through SRE/SREBP2. The expression of ABCA7 by this regulation is associated with phagocytic activity. As well, it binds APOA1 and may function in apolipoprotein-mediated phospholipid efflux from cells and may mediate cholesterol efflux. Applications: Suitable for use in Flow Cytometry and Western Blot. Not recommended for use in ELISA. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilutions: Flow Cytometry: 1:500-1:4000 Western Blot: 1:2000 detects a band at ~240kD. Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4 degrees C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20 degrees C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
