ABCA7, an ATP-binding cassette, sub-family A (ABC1), member 7, is highly homologous to ABCA1 and mediates cellular cholesterol and phospholipid release by apolipoproteins. The ABCA7 gene is regulated by sterol in the opposite direction to ABCA1 through SRE/SREBP2. The expression of ABCA7 by this regulation is associated with phagocytic activity. As well, it binds APOA1 and may function in apolipoprotein-mediated phospholipid efflux from cells and may mediate cholesterol efflux.
Applications:
Suitable for use in Flow Cytometry and Western Blot. Other applications not tested.
Recommended Dilution:
Flow Cytometry: 1:10,000-1:60,000.
Western Blot: 1:2,000-1:8,000. A 240kD band is seen.
Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Storage and Stability:
May be stored at 4 degrees C for short-term only. For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, aliquot Store at -20 degrees C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20 degrees C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
