ABCB5 belongs to the ATP-binding cassette (ABC) transporter superfamily of integral membrane proteins. A number of distinct forms of ABCB5 have been shown to be expressed in various tissue types, including, but not limited to, melanocytes, melanoma cells, testis, mammary tissue, and retinal pigmented epithelium. ABCB5 is also indicated to be a metastatic melanoma progression marker. Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA, Western Blot. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Peptide ELISA: <1:128,000 Western Blot: 0.03-0.1ug/ml. Detects a band at ~80kD in lystaes of A431. Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4 degrees C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20 degrees C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
