Alpha Smooth muscle actin is found in smooth muscle cells such as those in blood vessel wall regions of the intestine and myoepithelial glands. This antibody may be useful as a myogenic marker or to identify smooth muscle differentiation.
Applications:
Suitable for use in Western Blot and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested.
Recommended Dilution:
Western Blot: 1:100-1:250
Immunohistochemistry: 1:25-1:50 for 1 hr at RT
Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Positive Control:
Western Blot: Smooth muscle.
Immunohistochemistry: Bowel wall, with distinct labeling of the muscularis mucosae and the muscularis propria (cytoplasmic staining pattern)
Storage and Stability:
Lyophilized powder may be stored at -20 degrees C. Stable for 12 months at -20 degrees C. Reconstitute with sterile ddH2O. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20 degrees C. Reconstituted product is stable for 12 months at -20 degrees C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
