FITC-labeled bovine type I is an excellent substrate for examining collagenase activity. This labeled substrate is highly purified and telo-peptide free. To minimize background levels in collagenase assays, FITC-labeled collagen has been enzymatically pre-treated and further purified by ion-exchange chromatography.
Applications:
Suitable for use in the assay of mammalian collagenase activity.
Recomended Dilutions:
Heat Denaturation: For preparing a substrate for gelatinase, transfer collagen solution to a brown glass bottle and heat to 80 degrees C for 10 min.
Storage and Stability:
Store at -20C in the dark. The collagen solution is very stable in acidic solution at -20C but will gradually degrade under neutral conditions.
