IL-1a is a potent immuno-modulator that mediates a wide range of immune and inflammatory responses. Human IL-1a is an 18.0kD protein containing 159aa residues. Source: Recombinant corresponding to human IL-1a expressed in E.coli. Molecular weight: ~18kD Biological Activity: The ED50 as determined by the dose-dependent stimulation of murine D10S cells is ~0.001ng/ml, corresponding to a specific activity of ~1x10e9 units/mg. Endotoxins: ~0.1ng/ug Storage and Stability: Lyophilized powder may be stored at -20 degrees C. Stable for 12 months at -20 degrees C. Reconstitute with ddH2O. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20 degrees C. Reconstituted product is stable for 6 months at -20 degrees C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
