Interleukin-1a (IL-1a is a potent immuno-modulator that mediates a wide range of immune and inflammatory responses. Rat IL-1a is a 17.7kD protein containing 155aa residues. Source: Recombinant corresponding to aa1-155 from rat IL-1a protein expressed in E.coli. Molecular Weight: ~18kD Biological activity: The ED50 as determined by the dose-dependent stimulation of the proliferation of murine D10S cells is ~0.005ng/ml, corresponding to a specific activity of ~2 x 10e9 units/mg. Endotoxin: ~0.1ng/ug Storage and Stability: Lyophilized powder may be stored at -20 degrees C. Stable for 12 months at -20 degrees C. Reconstitute with sterile buffer. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20 degrees C. Reconstituted product is stable for 6 months at -20 degrees C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
