CD40 Ligand (CD40L/TRAP) is a type II membrane protein that effectuates the helper function of T cells on resting B cells. Human soluble CD40 Ligand is a 16.3kD protein containing 149 amino acid residues comprising the receptor binding TNF-like domain of CD40L.
Source:
Recombinant protein corresponding to human soluble CD40Ligand/TRAP, expressed in E. coli.
Molecular Weight:
~16.3kD
Biological Activity:
Determined by the stimulation of IL-12 induction by human peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMC) and the stimulation of IL-8 induction by human PBMC. The expected ED50 for this effect is 5-10ng/ml.
Endotoxin:
<0.1ng/ug
Storage and Stability:
Lyophilized powder may be stored at -20 degrees C. Stable for 12 months at -20 degrees C. Reconstitute with sodium phosphate. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20 degrees C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
