MAP Kinase p38, phosphorylated (Thr180, Tyr182) (Mitogen Activated Protein Kinase p38, MAPK p38)

The three Mitogen-Activated Protein Kinases (MAPKs) are evolutionarily conserved protein kinases that control a vast array of cellular processes. p38 MAPK is one these kinases and it is activated by both inflammatory cytokines and by stress. The p38 MAPK is thought to be particularly important in diseases like asthma and autoimmunity but it also plays important roles in the stress response of the nervous system. Like the other MAPKs, p38 is activated by a dual specificity kinase that phosphorylates Thr180 and Tyr182. \n\nApplications: \nSpecific for MEK 1/2 phosphorylated at Thr180 and Tyr182. Applications include dot blots and Western blots.\n\nRecommended Dilution: \nDot blot: 1:1000\nWestern blot: 1:1000\n\nStorage and Stability:\nMay be stored at 4 degrees C for short-term only. For long-term storage, store at -20 degrees C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20 degrees C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
