Cell line was established by fusion of mouse NS-1 cells with spleen from a BALB/c mouse immunized with enriched retinal cell membranes; described as secreting a mouse monoclonal antibody (IgM) reacting with the chicken dorsal retina cytoplasmic membranes (E12) and binding outer photoreceptor elements of adult vertebrate retina (inclusive chick, mouse, rat)
