a-Fetoprotein (AFP, Alpha1-fetoprotein, Alpha-fetoglobulin, Alpha-fetoprotein precursor, FETA, HPAFP) (BSA & Azide Free)

AFP is normally synthesized in the liver, intestinal tract, and yolk sac of the fetus. Antibody to AFP has been shown to be useful in detecting hepatocellular carcinomas (HCC) and germ cell neoplasms, especially yolk sac tumors.\n\nApplications:\nSuitable for use in Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested.\n\nRecommended Dilutions:\nImmunohistochemistry: 1:10-1:20 for 30 minutes at RT. No special pretreatment is required for staining of formalin fixed, paraffin embedded tissues.\nOptimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.\n\nPositive Control: \nFetal liver or hepatocellular carcinoma.\n\nSource: \nAscites\n\nStorage and Stability:\nMay be stored at 4 degrees C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20 degrees C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
