Acrp30 is a 244 amino acid major adipokine secreted into the bloodstream from adipose tissue to modulate metabolism, including glucose regulation and fatty acid catabolism. Unlike most other adipokines, adiponectin is secreted exclusively by differentiating adipocytes at reduced levels during obesity. The serum level of adiponectin is inversely correlated with BMI (body mass index) of an individual and has an anti-i nflammatory action, playing an important role in type II diabetes (insulin sensitivity) and atherosclerosis.
Applications:
Suitable for use in ELISA and Western Blot. Other applications not tested.
Recommended Dilution:
Western Blot: 1:1000-1:2000. ~64kD band observed in mouse liver cell lysates.
Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Hybridoma:
Sp2/0 myeloma cells with spleen cells from Balb/c mice.
Storage and Stability:
May be stored at 4 degrees C for short-term only. For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, aliquot and store at -20 degrees C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20 degrees C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
