Actin is expressed in all eukaryotic cells and is the major component of the cytoskeleton. At least six types of actin are present in mammalian tissues and fall into three classes. Alpha actin expression is limited to various types of muscle and it regulates contactile potentials for the muscle cells, whereas beta and gamma actin, also known as cytoplasmic actin, are predominantly expressed in nonmuscle cells, controlling cell structure and motility. Applications: Suitable for use in Western Blot. Other applications have not been tested. Recommended Dilution: Western Blot: 0.5-4ug/ml Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4 degrees C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20 degrees C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
