In addition to conventional actins, there are several actin-related proteins. The ACTR1B protein and the ACTR1A protein are of equal length, and they share 90% amino acid identity and 96% amino acid similarity. ACTR1B is expressed in the cytosol as part of the dynactin complex. The dynactin complex has been shown to localize to multiple structures within the cell, including membrane organelles, the centrosome, spindle poles, and spindle pole microtubules during mitosis and prometaphase kinetochores. It regulates dyneinmediated vesicle movement on microtubules as well as spindle assembly and cell division. ACTR1B appears to be ivolved in dynein-driven vesicle movement. Cellular Localization: Cytoplasmic Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA and Western Blot. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: ELISA: 1:128000. Western Blot: 0.5-2ug/ml. Predicted molecular weight 45kD. Detects a band of ~ 43kD. Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4 degrees C for short-term only. For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, aliquot and store at -20 degrees C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20 degrees C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
