ADAM19 (a disintegrin and metalloprotease 19; also MADDAM and Meltrin-beta) is a 95-100 kD member of the M12B peptidase family of enzymes. It is expressed on multiple cell types including monocytes, fibroblasts, osteoblasts and dendritic cells. The human ADAM19 proenzyme is a 931 amino acid (aa) type I transmembrane protein. It contains a 178aa cleavable proregion (aa26-203) and a 497 aa extracellular domain (ECD) (aa204-702). The
ECD contains a metalloprotease domain (aa211-409), a disintegrin region (aa417-503) and a Cys-rich domain (aa504-650). The ECD circulates in plasma bound to 700 kD alpha 2-Macroglobulin. One splice variant shows an alternate start site at Met71, while two isoforms show variations afterLys902. Over aa205-702, human ADAM19 is 87% aa identical to mouse ADAM19.

Suitable for use in Western Blot. Other applications not tested.

Western Blot: 0.1-0.2ug/ml

Storage and Stability:
Lyophilized powder may be stored at 4 degrees C for short-term only. Reconstitute to nominal volume by adding sterile 40-50% glycerol and store at -20 degrees C. Reconstituted product is stable for 12 months at -20 degrees C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
