ADAM 22 belongs to the ADAM gene family which have been shown to bind integrin and therefore may have a part in cell to cell or cell to matrix interactions. ADAM 22 is unique in the fact that it is only observed in the nervous system and predominantly in the brain. ADAM 22 is attached by cytoskeletal scaffolds to the postsynaptic density and is a receptor for LGI1. Applications: Suitable for use in Immunoprecipitation, Immunohistochemistry and Immunofluorescence. Other applications have not been tested. Recommended Dilutions: Immunohistochemistry: 1:400 detected ADAM 22 in rat myelinated neurite tissue. Immunohistochemistry (Parafiin): 1:400 detected ADAM 22 in neurons/myelin in putamen area. Heat-induces epitope retrieval in citrate buffer pH 6.0 is recommended. Western Blot: Detect ADAM 22 in rat and mouse brain tissue lystaes. Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Positive Control: Rat myelinated neurite tissue Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4 degrees C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20 degrees C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
