Alternate Name: ADAM8, a disintegrin and metalloproteinase domain 8, MS2, CD156, CD156 MS2
Domain Information: ADAM Cysteine-Rich Domain; Homologues of snake disintegrins; Reprolysin (M12B) family zinc metalloprotease; Reprolysin family propeptide
Gene Ontology Terms: zinc ion binding; metalloendopeptidase activity; proteolysis and peptidolysis; proteoglycan integral to plasma membrane; integral to membrane; hydrolase activity
Application(s): Suitable for use in ELISA, Western Blot. Other applications not tested.
Western blot: Approx 90kD band seen in Human Brain lysate. Recommended for use at 1-3ug/ml.
Staining (2ug/ml) of Human Brain lysate (RIPA buffer, 30ug total protein per lane). Primary incubated for 1 hour. Detected by western blot using chemiluminescence.
Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Storage and Stability:
May be stored at 4 degrees C for short-term only. For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, aliquot and store at -20 degrees C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20 degrees C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
Peptide Blocking:
Corresponding peptide is available for Peptide Blocking studies. See A0858-98C-P. Antibody
