Adenosine A1 Receptor

The A1 Adenosine Receptor is involved in smooth muscle contraction, control of heart rate, sedation, and lipolysis. Expression of the adenosine A1 receptor has been reported in the central nervous system, particularly in the cerebral cortex, hippocampus, thalamus, striatum, and cerebellum, and in peripheral tissues including heart, adipose, testis, and kidney. ESTs have been isolated from brain, breast, eye, kidney, salivary gland, and testis libraries.\n\nApplications: \nSuitable for use in ELISA, Western Blot, Immunohistochemistry and Immunocytochemistry. Other applications not tested.\n\nRecommended Dilution:\nELISA: 1:10,000-1:50,000\nWestern Blot (ECL): 1-10ug/ml. Use chemiluminescence technique. Higher concentrations of antibody may be necessary if colorimetric detection or milk-based antibody diluent are used.\nImmunohistochemistry (Frozen): 10-50ug/ml Light fixation with 0.2% picric acid is recommended. \nImmunocytochemistry: Light 2% PFA fixation for 5-10 minutes is recommended. \nOptimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.\n\nStorage and Stability:\nMay be stored at 4 degrees C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20 degrees C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.

Recognizes rat Adenosine A1 receptor (A1R) at 79 and 39kD bands in cortical membranes. The 79kD band can be converted to 39kD band by agonist or antagonist treatment and could represent A1R dimers. Species Crossreactivity: human, porcine, sheep and guinea pig.
