Aggrecan is a proteoglycan and member of the aggrecan/versican proteoglycan family, which forms a major component of the extracellular matrix (ECM) of both cartilage and the central nervous system (CNS). Studies using a panel of core protein-directed antibodies against human aggrecan, revealed the distribution of different aggrecan isoforms within the CNS, and sub-divided the isoforms into clusters 1-5 accordingly. These studies also showed a difference in the relative abundance of these isoforms when comparing brain and cartilage tissues. \n\nApplications:\nSuitable for use in Immunohistochemistry, ELISA, Western Blot and Immunoprecipitation. Other applications have not been tested.\n\nRecommended Dilutions:\nImmunohistochemistry: Frozen sections\nOptimal working dilutions to be determined by researcher.\n\nRecommended Secondary Antibodies:\nI1905-28A: IgM (X-Adsorbed) (HRP) Pab GtxMo\nI1905-04A: IgM (X-Adsorbed) (PE) Pab GtxMo\nI1905-18D: IgM (X-Adsorbed) (FITC) Pab GtxMo\n\nHybridoma: \nNS1 myeloma cells with spleen cells from Balb/c mice. \n\nStorage and Stability:\nMay be stored at 4 degrees C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20 degrees C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
