AIRE (Autoimmune Regulator, Autoimmune Polyendocrinopathy Candidiasis Ectodermal Dystrophy Protein, APECED Protein, APECED) (PE)

AIRE (Autoimmune Regulator; also APECED) is a 58-60kD transcriptional regulator that exhibits tightly regulated expression. It is widely expressed in lymphoid organs, but is most pronounced in thymic medullary epithelium, where it induces the expression of organ-specific antigens that are used to sequester and delete autoreactive lymphocytes. Mouse AIRE is 552aa in length. It contains multiple domains, including an HSR domain with two LXXLL motifs aa1-106, an NLS aa114-134, one SAND domain aa182-282 and two PHD zinc finger regions aa98-345; 434-475. AIRE will homodimerize and tetramerize. There are multiple potential isoforms that involve various combinations of deletions of aa265-268, 368-426 and aa296, plus a 42 a substitution for aa368-552. Over aa476-552, mouse AIRE shares 91% and 65% aa identity with rat and human AIRE.\n\nApplications:\nSuitable for use in Flow Cytometry. Other applications not tested.\n\nRecommended Dilution:\nOptimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.\n\nExcitation: 488nm\n\nEmission: 565-605nm\n\nStorage and Stability:\nMay be stored at 4 degrees C before opening. DO NOT FREEZE! Stable at 4 degrees C as an undiluted liquid. Dilute only prior to immediate use. Stable for 12 months at 4 degrees C. Freezing R-Phycoerythrin (PE) conjugates will result in a substantial loss of activity. PE conjugates are sensitive to light.
