AKAP 95 (A Kinase Protein 95)

A-kinase proteins (AKAPs) function to localize the cAMP-dependent protein kinase (PKA) to specific subcellular sites. Anchoring of PKA is an efficient means to adapt the kinase for specific cAMP-responsive events as it permits rapid and preferential phosphorylation of target substrates upon elevation of cAMP. So far, 35 unique AKAPs have been identified which function to tether the kinase to a variety of cellular structures and organelles. AKAP95 is a 95kD protein which is a component of the nuclear matrix in all cell-lines. \n\nApplication: \nSuitable for use in Western Blot. Other applications not tested. \n\nRecommended Dilution: \nWestern Blot: 1ug/ml. Detects AKAP95 in human A431 lysates and HeLa nucler extract.\nImmunocytochemistry: 10ug/ml. For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, add sterile 40-50% glycerol, aliquot and store at -20 degrees C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20 degrees C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
