Alix, a phylogenetically conserved cytosolic scaffold protein, contains an N-terminal Bro1 domain, a coiled-coil region and a C-terminal proline-rich domain. Originally identified as an ALG-2 (apoptosis-linked gene 2)-interacting protein involved in programmed cell death, Alix also regulates many other cellular processes, such as endocytic membrane trafficking and cell adhesion through interactions with ESCRT (endosomal sorting complex required for transport) proteins, endophilins, and CIN85 (Cbl-interacting protein of 85kD). Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA, Immunofluorescence, Immunohistochemistry, Immunoprecipitation and Western Blot. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilutions: Immunohistochemistry: Paraffin sections. Does not require protein digestion pre-treatment of paraffin sections. Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4 degrees C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20 degrees C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
