ALS2CR2, a novel anti-apoptotic protein, belongs to the serine/threonine protein kinase STE20 subfamily. Due to the presence of a protein kinase domain with one of the active site residues altered, ALS2CR2 is known as pseudokinase. ALS2CR2 is a component of a complex involved in the activation of a master kinase serine/threonine kinase 11, that regulates cell polarity and energy-generating metabolism and is known to regulate the relocation of this kinase from the nucleus to the cytoplasm. It is essential for G1 cell cycle arrest mediated by this kinase. ALS2CR2 is known to interact with the X chromosome-linked inhibitor of apoptosis protein, and thus enhances the anti-apoptotic activity of this protein via the JNK1 signal transduction pathway. Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: ELISA: 1:100-1:1000 Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4 degrees C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20 degrees C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
