Aminopeptidase A is a zinc-dependent metallopeptidase that selectively cleaves N-terminal Glu, or Asp residues from peptides. In mice, it is expressed on early B cells and on a subset of thymic cortical epithelial cells, but not on mature lymphocytes. Additionally, it is expressed on endothelial cells, intestinal epithelium, proximal renal tubules, and other non-hemopoietic tissues. In humans, angiotensin II is the the best-defined biologically active substrate of APA. Although its role in the immune response is still uncertain, its expression on renal cell carcinoma has been the focus of some cancer research studies. Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA and Western Blot. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: ELISA: 1:64000 Western Blot: 1-3ug/ml Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4 degrees C for short-term only. For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, aliquot and store at -20 degrees C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20 degrees C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.

Additional info: Recognizes human Aminopeptidase A at ~170kD in human brain and testis lysates (calculated MW of 109kD according to NP_001968.2). The observed MW corresponds to earlier findings in literature with different antibodies (Ando et al, J Clin Endocrinol Metab. 2002 May;87(5):2303-9; PMID: 11994381). Species Crossreactivity: Canine, mouse, porcine and rat.
