AMPK1 belongs to the ser/thr protein kinase family. It is the catalytic subunit of the 5'-prime- AMP-activated protein kinase (AMPK). AMPK is a cellular energy sensor conserved in all eukaryotic cells. The kinase activity of AMPK is activated by the stimuli that increase the cellular AMP/ATP ratio. AMPK regulates the activities of a number of key metabolic enzymes through phosphorylation. It protects cells from stresses that cause ATP depletion by switching off ATP-consuming biosynthetic pathways.
Applications:
Suitable for use in Immunofluorescence, Western Blot, and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested.
Recommended Dilution:
Immunofluorescence: 1:100-1:200
Western Blot: 1:500-1:1,000
Immunohistochemistry: 1:50-1:100
Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Storage and Stability:
May be stored at 4 degrees C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20 degrees C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
