ANAPC2 (Anaphase-promoting Complex Subunit 2, Cyclosome Subunit 2, APC2, KIAA1406, RP11-350O14.5)

Cell cycle regulated protein ubiquitination and degradation within subcellular domains is thought to be essential for the normal progression of mitosis. APC2 is a highly conserved component of the anaphase promoting complex/cyclosome (APC/C), a cell cycle-regulated E3 ubiquitin ligase that controls progression through mitosis and the G1 phase of the cell cycle. APC/C is responsible for degrading anaphase inhibitors, mitotic cyclins, and spindle-associated proteins ensuring that events of mitosis take place in proper sequence. The individual APC/C components mRNA and protein levels are expressed at approximately the same levels in most tissues and cell lines, suggesting that they perform their functions as part of a complex. Like APC11, APC2 contains cullin and RING finger domains that are thought to be important in regulating ubiquitination activity.\n\nApplications:\nSuitable for use in Immunofluorescence, ELISA, Western Blot and Immunocytochemistry. Other applications not tested.\n\nRecommended Dilution:\nWestern Blot: 1-2ug/ml\nOptimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.\n\nPositive Control:\nHeLa Cell Lysate\n\nStorage and Stability:\nMay be stored at 4 degrees C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20 degrees C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
