Androgen Receptor (AR)

Cat no: A2281-02C

Androgen Receptor (AR)

The androgen receptor (AR) has been localized e.g. in the testis, (Sertoli and Leydig cells), prostate, foreskin epidermis, fibroblasts, breast epithelium, sweat and apocrine glands and hepatocytes. Prostate cancers are very heterogeneous with regard to AR expression, the loss of androgen responsiveness is not paralleled by the loss of AR. Studies on AR distribution might be useful to study the role of AR in related disease processes. Antigen localization is nuclear.\n\nApplications:\nSuitable for use in Immunoblot, Immunocytochemistry and Immunohistochemistry (frozen sections and paraffin-embedded tissue after mivrowave pretreatment).\n\nRecommended Dilution: \nImmunohistochemistry: 1:5-1:10; Dilute immediately before use with PBS.\n\nPositive Control: \nTestis\n\nStorage and Stability:\nMay be stored at 4 degrees C for short-term only. For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, aliquot and add glycerol (40-50%). Store at -20 degrees C or colder. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20 degrees C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
