Adaptins are important components of clathrin-coated vesicles transporting ligand-receptor complexes from the plasma membrane or from the trans Golgi network to lysosomes. Together with medium and small subunits, adaptins form a heterotetrameric complex called an adaptor whose role is to promote the formation of clathrin-coated pits and vesicles and to recognise sorting signals within the cytosolic tails of transmembrane cargo molecules. Gamma-adaptin protein belongs to the adaptor protein complex 1 that plays a role in protein sorting in the late-Golgi/trans-Golgi network and/or endosomes. Applications: Suitable for use in Western Blot and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Western Blot: 1:1000-1:4000 Immunohistochemistry (Frozen, paraffin): 1:200-1:2000 Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: Lyophilized powder may be stored at -20 degrees C. Stable for 12 months at -20 degrees C. Reconstitute with sterile ddH2O. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20 degrees C. Reconstituted product is stable for 12 months at -20 degrees C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
