APOA1 (Apolipoprotein A-I, Apo-AI, ApoA-I, Apolipoprotein A1, Apolipoprotein A-I(1-242))

Apolipoprotein A1 (APOA1) is the main protein component of high density lipoprotein (HDL) in plasma. This protein promotes cholesterol efflux from tissues to the liver for excretion, and it is a cofactor for lecithin cholesterolacyltransferase (LCAT) which is responsible for the formation of most plasma cholesteryl esters. Defects in APOA1 are associated with HDL deficiencies. High level of APOA1 is regarded as protective against atherosclerosis and cardiovascular disease.\n\nApplications:\nSuitable for use in ELISA and Western Blot. Other applications not tested.\n\nRecommended Dilution:\nWestern Blot: 1:500-1:5000\nOptimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.\n\nHybridoma:\nF0 myeloma cells with spleen cells from Balb/c mice.\n\nStorage and Stability:\nMay be stored at 4 degrees C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20 degrees C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
