The human apolipoprotein L6 (ApoL6) structural gene is localized in chromosome 22q12.3 and codes for a 343aa human ApoL-6 is one of the six members of the ApoL family. In addition, it is a BH3-only pro-apoptotic member of the Bcl-2 family and, when overexpressed, induces mitochondria-mediated apoptosis. Overexpression of ApoL6 also induces caspase 8 activation. Moreover, ApoL6 is a cytosolic protein and may control intracellular lipid homeostasis and signaling by regulating the transport and metabolism of lipids and the binding of lipids to organelles. Applications: Suitable for use in Western Blot. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Western Blot: 1:500-1:1000 Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4 degrees C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20 degrees C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
