Apolipoprotein H (beta 2-Glycoprotein1, ApoHb2gp1)

Apolipoprotein H (ApoH), also referred to as beta2-glycoprotein I, is a phospholipid binding serum protein and plasma glycoprotein partially associated with lipoproteins. Human ApoH is a single-chain molecule consisting of 326 amino acid residues and five carbohydrate chains. Apolipoprotein H is associated with very-low-density lipoproteins, high-density lipoproteins, and chylomicrons and may play a role in triacylglycerol metabolism. ApoH preferentially binds to negatively charged phospholipids such as phosphatidyl serine (PS). Because of this property,\napoH might inhibit blood coagulation and ADP dependent platelet aggregation, at least in vitro. Its precise physiological role remains to be elucidated. ApoH has also been shown to be a mediator of inflammatory changes ensuing in jeopardized human myocardium.\n\nApplications:\nSuitable for use in Western Blot and ELISA. Other applications have not been tested.\n\nRecommended Dilution:\nWestern Blot: 1:100-1:400\nELISA: 1:100-1:100,000\nOptimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.\n\nStorage and Stability:\nMay be stored at 4 degrees C for short-term only. For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, aliquot and add glycerol (40-50%). Freeze at -20 degrees C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20 degrees C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
