ARFGAP3 (ADP-ribosylation Factor GTPase-activating Protein 3, ARF GAP 3, ARFGAP1)

ARFGAP3 is an GTPase-activating protein (GAP) probably for ARF1. This protein may be involved in protein secretion and/or vesicle transport. It likely participates in promoting hydrolysis of the ARF1-bound GTP and thus, may be required for the dissociation of coat proteins from Golgi-derived membranes and vesicles, a prerequisite for vesicle's fusion with target compartment. Like other ARFGAPs, its activity is sensitive to phospholipids. Location is cytoplasmic, concentrated in the perinuclear region. Highest expression occurs in the endocrine glands (pancreas, pituary gland, salivary gland, and prostate) and testis with a much higher expression in the testis than in the ovary. ARFGAP3 is expressed at higher level in adult thymus, brain and lung, than in corresponding fetal tissues. It is expressed at lower level in spleen, heart, kidney and liver during development.\n\nApplications:\nSuitable for use in Western Blot. Other applications not tested.\n\nRecommended Dilution:\nWestern Blot: 1-3ug/ml\nOptimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.\n\nPositive Control:\nMouse Brain extracts\n\nStorage and Stability:\nMay be stored at 4 degrees C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20 degrees C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
