ARSG is a member of the aryl sulfatase family of enzymes with a high degree of amino acid sequence similarity to ARSA and ARSB. ARSG mRNA is expressed in a ubiquitous manner, being detected in most adult and embryonic tissues of the mouse (1).
Recombinant mouse Arylsulfatase G encoded by the Arsg gene (rmARSG; amino acid residues 17-525; Accession # NP_082986) (1) was expressed with an N-terminal signal sequence and a C-terminal 10X His tag in a Chinese Hamster Ovary cell line.
Calculated molecular mass of 55kD and migrates as a 6 kD band in SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions.
Activity: Measured by its ability to hydrolyze the substrate 4-nitrocatechol sulfate (PNCS).
Storage and Stability:
May be stored at 4 degrees C for short-term only. For long-term storage, store at -20 degrees C. Aliquots are stable for at least 6 months at -20 degrees C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
