ASK1, CT (Apoptosis Signal-regulating Kinase 1, ASK-1, Mitogen-activated Protein Kinase Kinase Kinase 5, MAP3K5, MAPKKK5, MAPK/ERK Kinase Kinase 5, MEK Kinase 5, MEKK 5, MEKK5)

Mitogen-activated protein (MAP) kinase cascades are activated in response to various extracellular stimuli, including cytokines, growth factors and environmental stresses. A novel MAP kinase kinase kinase (MAPKKK) was recently identified and designated ASK1 (for apoptosis signal-regulating kinase and MAPKKK5. ASK1 activates two different subgroups of MAPKK, MKK4 and MKK6, which in turn activate c-Jun N-terminal kinase (JNK) and p38 MAP kinase, respectively. Overexpression of ASK1 induces apoptotic cell death, and a catalytically inactive form of ASK1 inhibits TNF-a-induced apoptosis. ASK1 is expressed in variety of human and mouse tissues. \n\nApplications:\nSuitable for use in Western Blot Other applications have not been tested.\n\nRecommended Dilution:\nWestern Blot: 1:500-1:1000\nOptimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.\n\nPositive Control:\nSW1353 whole-cell lysate \n\nStorage and Stability:\nMay be stored at 4 degrees C for short-term only. For long-term storage, store at -20 degrees C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20 degrees C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
