This cell line was derived from nude mouse xenografts initiated with cells from the ascites of a 62-year-old female Caucasian patient with cancer of the pancreas. The cells produce carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA), human pancreas associated antigen, human pancreas specific antigen and mucin. Aspc-1 cells carry a homozygous Kras mutation in codon12: GGT(Gly) >GAT(Asp).
