The ASPP family members ASPP1, ASPP2, act as potent activators of p53. A third member of the family, iASPP, has an inhibitory effect on apoptosis. The three members of ASPP family all bind p53 via their C-terminus, which contains a proline-rich region, four ankyrin repeats and an SH3 domain. Expression of ASPP1 and ASPP2 is frequently downregulated in human breast tumors expressing wild-type p53. ASPP1 may also play a role in vascular development.
Applications:
Suitable for use in Western Blot and Immunoprecipitation. Other applications not tested.
Recommended Dilution:
Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Storage and Stability:
May be stored at 4 degrees C for short-term only. For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, aliquot Store at -20 degrees C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20 degrees C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
