APG16 L1 plays an essential role in autophagy. SUBUNIT: Homooligomer. Interacts with ATG5. Part of either the minor and major complexes respectively composed of 4 sets of ATG12-ATG5 and ATG16L1 (400kD) or 8 sets of ATG12-ATG5 and ATG16L1 (800kD).
Applications:
Suitable for use in Immunofluorescence, Western Blot and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested.
Recommended Dilution:
Immunofluorescence: 1:100-1:3000
Immunohistochemistry: 1:100-1:3000
Western Blot: 1:100-1:3000
Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Cellular Localization:
Cytoplasm. Preautophagosomal structure; preautophagosomal structure membrane; peripheral membrane protein. Localized to preautophagosomal structure (PAS) where it is involved in the membrane targeting of ATG5.
Storage and Stability:
May be stored at 4 degrees C for short-term only. For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, aliquot and store at -20 degrees C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20 degrees C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
