AG4B is a 393aa cysteine protease consisting of the active catalytic triad site of Cys74, His280 and Asp278 and belonging to the peptidase C54 family. It is required for autophagy, which is essential for cell homeostasis and cell remodeling during differentiation, metamorphosis, non-apoptotic cell death and aging. It negatively regulates the localization of LC3 to a membrane compartment by delipidation and mediates murine Atg8L/Apg8L modification during the formation of autophagosomes. APG4B is expressed in skeletal muscle, brain, heart, liver and pancreas. Applications: Suitable for use in Western Blot. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Western Blot: 2-4ug/ml Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Positive Control: Jurkat cell lysate Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4 degrees C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20 degrees C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
