Apg7 is the human gene product similar in homology to Pichia pastoris GSA7 and Saccharomyces cerevisiae Apg7. In the yeast, the protein appears to be required for fusion of peroxisomal and vaculuolar membranes. The protein shows homlogy to the ATP-binding and catalytic sites of the E1 ubiquitin activating enzymes. Applications: Suitable for use in Immunofluorescence, ELISA and Western Blot. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4 degrees C for short-term only. For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, aliquot and store at -20 degrees C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20 degrees C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.

Additional info: Reactivity occurs against human APG7 protein. However, BLAST analysis indicates 100% homology (12/12) for this protein from human, chimpanzee, mouse, rat, canine and chicken sources. The core amino acids of the immunogen, G-D-S-T-R-D-R-T are 100% identical (8/8) in D. melanogaster. Reactivity with Apg7 proteins from other sources is not known. Species Crossreactivity: This product reacts with human, and is believed to react with chimpanzee, mouse, rat, canine, and chicken.
