BCA-1/BLC, a CXC chemokine, is expressed in the liver, spleen, lymph nodes, appendix and stomach. It exerts its activities through its only receptor CXCR5. BCA-1/BLC is a potent chemoattractant for B lymphocytes and induces weak chemotactic response in T cells and macrophages. It manifests no activity on neutrophils and monocytes. Recombinant Human BCA-1 is a 10.3kD protein containing 85 amino acid residues including the four highly conserved cysteine residues present in CXC chemokines.

Biological Activity:
Determined by its ability to chemoattract human B cells using a concentration range of 1-10ng/ml.
Storage and Stability:
Lyophilized powder may be stored at -20 degrees C. Stable for 12 months at -20 degrees C. Reconstitute with Acetic acid. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20 degrees C. Reconstituted product is stable for 6 months at -20 degrees C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
