The bcl-2 oncoprotein is present in normal and neoplastic lymphoid tissues. It is regarded as an inhibitor of apoptosis and proliferating lymphoid cells and reactive germinal centers do not express bcl-2. This antibody will help positively identify tissues expressing bcl-2. Applications: Suitable for use in Western Blot, and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Western Blot: 1:25-1:50 Immunohistochemistry: 1:80 for 1 hr. at RT Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Positive Control: Western Blot: Bristol 8 cell line. Immunohistochemistry: Tonsil, Membrane and/or cytoplas-mic staining pattern. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4 degrees C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20 degrees C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
