In mammals the BMP-1 gene encodes both the BMP-1 protein and the mTld protein on two distinct, alternately spliced mRNAs. Both of these proteins exhibit procollagen C-proteinase activity and play a vital role in bone development and collagen formation. BMP-1 also cleaves C- and N- propeptides from other precursor proteins including procollagens V (2) and VII (1), chordin (3), prolysyl oxidase and probiglycan. Applications: Suitable for use in Western Blot. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Western Blot: 1:1000 Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4 degrees C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20 degrees C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
