Bone morphogenetic protein 4 (BMP4) is one of nine structurally related BMPs within the transforming growth factor beta superfamily. BMP4 stimulates bone formation in adult mammals and also functions as a signaling molecule in embryonic nervous system, musculature and skeleton. It also seems involved with early tooth morphogenesis, and is expressed in prostate adenocarcinoma and benign prostatic hyperplasia. This antibody will help detect BMP4 in a variety of tissues. Applications: Suitable for use in Western Blot and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Western Blot: 1:25-1:50 Immunohistochemistry: 1:10-1:20 for 1 hour at RT Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Positive Control: Western Blot: Saos-2 cell lysate Immunohistochemistry: Prostatic adenocarcinoma and osteoclastoma, cytoplasmic staining pattern. Storage and Stability: Lyophilized powder may be stored at -20 degrees C. Stable for 12 months at -20 degrees C. Reconstitute with sterile ddH2O. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20 degrees C. Reconstituted product is stable for 12 months at -20 degrees C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
