The interaction between BRCA1 and BARD1 (BRCA1 associated RING domain 1) through an amino-terminal RING finger domain, is implicated in RNA processing following DNA damage, and also in the mediation of tumor suppression by BRCA1. Gene mutations in BRCA1 are known to greatly enhance susceptibility to inherited breast, breast-ovarian and prostate cancers, and BRCA1 is therefore commonly used as a diagnostic marker for breast cancer.
Applications:
Suitable for use in Immunoprecipitation and Western Blot. Other applications not tested.
Recommended Dilution:
Immunoprecipitation: 1-4ug/mg
Western Blot: 1:1,000-1:10,000
Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Storage and Stability:
May be stored at 4 degrees C for short-term only. For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, add sterile 40-50% glycerol, aliquot and store at -20 degrees C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20 degrees C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
