An ABC transporter. Allows efflux of Hoechst dye, a property that has been used to separate bone marrow side population cells, which express BCRP/ABCG2. Appears to play a major role in the multidrug resistance phenotype of a specific MCF-7 breast cancer cell line. When overexpressed, the transfected cells become resistant to mitoxantrone, daunorubicin and doxorubicin, display diminished intracellular accumulation of daunorubicin, and manifest an ATP-dependent increase in the efflux of rhodamine 123. Cellular Localization: Plasma membrane, integral membrane protein Applications: Suitable for use in Flow Cytometry, Western Blot, Immunohistochemistry and Immunocytochemistry. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Western Blot: 1:20-1:50 Immunohistochemistry: 1:20 Immunocytochemistry: 1:20-1:50 Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4 degrees C for short-term only. For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, aliquot Store at -20 degrees C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20 degrees C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
Catalogue number: B2738-02A

Hosts: Rat
Applications: Flow Cytometry, Immunocytochemistry, Immunohistochemistry, Western Blot
Size: 100ul
Form: 0.7% BSA, tissue culture supernatant (serum free), 0.1% Sodium Azide
P type: Mab
Isotype: IgG1
Purity: Tissue culture supernatant
Alternative names: ABCG2
Additional info: The BXP-9 Mab was selected after immunization with a fusion protein containing the E. coli maltose binding protein and a fragment of the mouse bcrp protein corresponding to amino acids 221-394. BXP-9 reacts with an internal epitope of bcrp, a 70kD transmembrane half-transporter which is involved in Multidrug resistance. BXP-9 does not react with the human BCRP molecule. Species Crossreactivity: This antibody reacts with mouse. It does not react with human.
