The c-myc gene product, is involved in the regulation of the cell cycle and cell growth. p62c-myc is primarily located to the cell nucleus, but has also been shown to localized to the cytoplasm in several cell lines. Overexpression of c-myc has been reported in a wide variety of human cancers.
Applications:
Suitable for use in Immunohistochemistry, ELISA and Western Blot. Other applications not tested.
Recommended Dilution:
ELISA: 1:500 -1:5000
Western Blot: 1:100 -1:500, detects a band of ~62kD in Colo 320HSR cell lysates.
Immunohistochemistry (frozen and paraffin): Does not require protein digestion pre-treatment of paraffin sections prior to staining. Does not require antigen retrieval using heat treatment prior to staining of paraffin sections.
Optimal dilution determined by the researcher.
Hybridoma:
Spleen cells from immunized Balb/c mice were fused with cells of themyeloma cell line.
Storage and Stability:
May be stored at 4 degrees C before opening. DO NOT FREEZE! Stable at 4 degrees C as an undiluted liquid. Dilute only prior to immediate use. Freezing alkaline phosphatase conjugates will result in a substantial loss of enzymatic activity. Protect from light.
