C-Peptide is part of the molecule of Proinsulin, that consists of three parts: C-Peptide and two long strands of amino acids (called the alpha and beta chains) that later become linked together to form the insulin molecule. From every molecule of proinsulin, one molecule of insulin plus one molecule of C-Peptide are produced. C-peptide is released into the bloodstream in equal amounts to insulin. Applications: Suitable for use in RIA, Western Blot and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilutions: RIA: 1:2000 Western Blot: 1:100 Immunohistochemistry (Frozen): 1:100 Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: Lyophilized powder may be stored at -20 degrees C. Stable for 12 months at -20 degrees C. Reconstitute with sterile ddH2O. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20 degrees C. Reconstituted product is stable for 12 months at -20 degrees C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
