CA15-3 (MUC-1) is a type I transmembrane protein e, Xenopus/Amphibian,pressed in the apical membrane of highly polarized epithelial cells. CA15-3 is composed of alpha and beta subunits. The alpha subunit has cell adhesive properties, whereas the beta subunit modulates signaling in the SRK, ERK, and NF-kappa B pathways.
