Calcitonin receptor (CALCR) is a glycosylated 70kD seven-transmembrane G protein-coupled receptor that mediates the hypocalcemic effects of the peptide hormone, calcitonin. CALCR activation inhibits osteoclast-mediated bone resorption and enhances renal calcium excretion. CALCR polymorphisms and mutations have been associated with several bone disorders. Alternate splicing results in the deletion of 16aa in the first cytoplasmic loop or 23aa in the first extracellular region. Human CALCR shares aa70-72 sequence identity with mouse and rat CACLR. Applications: Suitable for use in Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Immunohistochemistry (Formalin fixed paraffin embedded): 20ug/ml Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4 degrees C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20 degrees C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
